So word on the street (literally) is that a large number of people are queuing in line outside of Apple’s flagship store on 5th Avenue in New York City — keep in mind the Cube is open 24 hours a day. Our intrepid girl-on-the-scene reports that the group is more than 60-deep, though most people seem confused about what they’re waiting for

I’ve been experimenting with the iPhone’s 2 megapixel camera. My results are definitely not as good as my old SLR. However, I take that with a grain of salt since I could never make a phone call with my SLR.
The iPhone’s Camera App. was designed for simplicity and ease of use. Simplicity they achieved, ease of use well almost. The main gripe to all iPhone owners is the difficulty of pulling off a good self portrait. The reason for this is the small touch screen shutter button which snaps on release. Combine that with the thinness of the device. It’s almost always results in some sort of blurriness. Well, unless James Cameron has a 15,000 watt light pointed at you. Even then if you don’t have a steady hand results still might very.
After you’ve managed to take a decent picture. You have a few options on how to share your newly created photographic masterpiece. However not one of those is to share it with another phone or even another iPhone. The easiest way to share them with your friends is by emailing them directly or to Flickr where it’s uploaded to your account. Once it’s uploaded and your near a computer I like to do a little photo editing with Flickr’s partner Picnik.
Picnik is an online photo editor. The reason I like this so much is that I don’t have to open Photoshop and it’s connected with Flickr so I don’t have to send files around to another site then back to Flickr. (more…)
I’ve been addicted to searching for the “Greatest Mac Setups”.
I found out that lot of people had Dell displays hooked up to their Macs, which was almost equal to the amount of people having Apple cinema displays. I’m not going to lie - I bought a 23″ Apple display along with my Dual G5 a few years back.
With out any real upgrades to the Apple displays, I’ve been looking into getting two Dell displays to replace my Apple display later this year. The main reason why I’m looking into Dell is because they are cheaper, and are better on paper than the current Apple displays. I personally think Apple needs to step their game up before I’m ready to buy a new display from them.
I currently have a black MacBook which is becoming more and more my main computer over my aging G5. Since being away from it for almost two months I realized I don’t really miss the power of a desktop computer. I figure once I move out to SF, I’ll end up getting a new MacBook Pro and a few Dell displays.
